Sessions & Fees

Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, although some clients prefer to meet for longer 90 minute sessions. The frequency of therapy depends on the level of support you are needing. I recommend weekly sessions for at least the first few months of therapy in order to build a solid therapist-client relationship. My standard fee is $150.00 / 50 minute session. I do offer a sliding scale based on financial need and availability of lower fee time slots. We will both agree to a fee before beginning our work together.

Free Consultations

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to answer questions and to discuss what you’re hoping to address in therapy. If you decide during that call that I’m not a fit for your needs, I will gladly provide referrals to other therapists in the area.

Payment

I accept cash, personal checks and payment through Venmo.

Insurance

I am an “out-of-network provider” for PPO insurers. At the end of each month I will provide you with an invoice you can submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement. It is often helpful to call your insurance company prior to starting therapy to find out what they cover. Helpful questions include:

  • Do I have mental health coverage?

  • What is my deductible, and has it been met? If not, how much have I met?

  • For an out-of-network provider, what percentage of my bill will be covered?

  • How many sessions will be covered per calendar year?

Cancellation Policy

Once an appointment has been scheduled, you will be expected to pay for it unless you provide 24-hours advance notice of cancellation. I do, however, take into account emergencies or unexpected circumstances for which no fee will be charged.
