Get to know me.

Laura Love Strutzenberg, M.S., LMFT, #97324

I grew up as a military child, living all over the United States, in big cities as well as rural, small towns. I also lived abroad in Europe and Asia. After graduating from Vanderbilt University with a BA, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue law and entertainment. My work and life circumstances compelled me to ask significant philosophical questions about suffering, purpose and what makes for a good life. The journey to answering these questions led me to the person of Christ and the gospel of Christianity, in which I found truth about myself and my life experiences. I worked in pastoral ministry for three years before attending Fuller Theological Seminary for my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. After working in private practice in Los Angeles for seven years, my family relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina. It’s a great privilege to serve the needs of communities in both Raleigh and Los Angeles as a licensed psychotherapist.

When I’m not seeing clients, I enjoy family dance parties with my husband and our three kids. I also love yoga, running and reading/writing poetry. I’m an active member of my church community, and my relationship with God is the foundation of my life and my work as a therapist. John Calvin’s quote about knowing God and self rings true for me: “Man never achieves a clear knowledge of himself unless he has first looked upon God’s face.”
